64 Christian Dating Questions: For You, For Them, For God

The Higher Bond Team
When it comes to dating as a Christian, questions are your friend. By asking the right questions (at the right time), you can help make sure you’re on the right path, dating the right person, and keeping your heart safe (Prov 4:23).
Today, we’re going to look at three main categories of Christian dating questions with tons of examples to help you on your journey. We’ll start by looking at questions you should ask yourself. Then, we’ll look at questions you can ask the man or woman you’re dating (or thinking about dating). And finally, we’ll look at questions you can ask God during your prayer time.
Let’s get into it!

Questions to Ask Yourself
Christian dating questions are an incredible tool you can use to make sure you’re on the right path when it comes to dating. Whether you are just starting the dating process, or you’re already dating someone, using questions as a self-audit is a fabulous technique.
Below, we’ve shared some Christian dating questions for both scenarios.
If you’re getting ready to start dating…

Why These Questions Matter
When dating as a Christian, it’s so important to be equally yoked (2 Cor. 6:14). In other words, you should be dating someone who you are in lock-step with when it comes to what’s important to you and your faith. It’s impossible to know if you’re equally yoked with someone if you don’t first know where you stand.
This knowledge is invaluable when it comes to the dating process.
Questions to Ask Your Date
The next batch of Christian dating questions we want to look at are questions you can ask your date! These are questions you could use on a first date, second date, tenth date, or whenever. As you’ll see, these questions are designed to be conversational but still forward enough to really make sure you’re getting some valuable information that can help you evaluate if the relationship is one that is going to work.

By asking these deeper questions (instead of just surface level small talk), you get to the heart of who you are.
Tips for Success With these Questions
- Don’t treat these as an interview. – When you ask these questions, make sure you’re not treating it like a job interview. Yes, you want to get the answers to these questions, but remember that it’s a two-way conversation.
- Be prepared to answer yourself. – Speaking of a two-way conversation, you should also be prepared to share your answers! It’s not just about if they’re right for you, but also if you’re right for them. It’s a relationship, not a one-way-ship.
- Don’t be put off if they take a while to answer some of these. – Some of these questions are fairly deep and might take them a little while to answer. Realize that this is okay. It shouldn’t be seen as a red flag, unless it’s a simpler question like ‘how often do you go to church’.
Questions to Ask God
Lastly, we want to share Christian dating questions you can use in your prayer time with God. These questions are designed to help you get a better pulse on how things are going and what (if any) changes you need to make.
Our humble advice here is to make sure you don’t just ask, but ask and listen. And if you feel like you’re getting an answer that is not what you hoped for, pray for the courage to listen and apply that answer to your romantic life.
- God, is this the right season for me to be in a relationship?
- Is this person truly the one you’ve prepared for me?
- Does this relationship align with the plans and purpose you have for my life?
- Are we moving at a pace that honors your timing?
- What can I do to strengthen my spiritual life and grow closer to you?
- What can I do to help my partner grow spiritually and deepen their faith?
- Is there anything in this relationship that needs to change so it better reflects your will?
