Finding a good Christian man who is looking for a faith-filled, Christ-centered relationship might feel like an impossible task. When you look at church, everyone is already married. When you look elsewhere, no one you meet has the same focus on faith you do.

What a positive way to start off an article, right? In reality, we’re not sharing any of this to discourage you (and we do have good news)! We merely want to let you know that we understand the struggle, you’re not alone, and we’re here to help.

Today, we want to look at six unique ways that you can find a Christian man who shares the same goals with his love life as you.

1. Pray.

The single greatest thing you can do to find a Christian man is pray. Nothing we can do will ever come close to the power God has to shape our lives.

Now, chances are, most of you are already praying for a man. Great, right? Yes, but…there are a few additional things we might encourage you to pray for to help in your journey. Praying “God, send me a great man” is a great start, but there is a lot more that can go into this.

First, pray that God helps to shape you into the ideal partner you need to be. It’s very possible that the reason you haven’t met your person yet is because God is still trying to get you ready for them. Pray that God helps you to grow into the woman of faith that your ideal partner is looking for.

Second, pray for patience. There is such a massive temptation when it comes to finding a Christian man to want it to happen on our terms. Trust us, we get it. However, we have to realize that we shouldn’t lean on our own understanding (Prov 3:5-6), but we should trust in God’s timeline.

And just to be obnoxiously clear, yes, that generally means it may be a much slower timeline than we’d personally like. But if we trust that He knows what is best for us, then we should be happy about whatever happens and whenever it happens.

2. Let your friends and family know you’re single (and looking).

Your friends and family (especially those within the church) know you best. They also probably know a lot of Christian men. They might even know someone who would be perfect for you.

But, if they don’t know that you’re actively looking to date, how can they help?

Singleness is something that the Bible calls a blessing. This means that within the Church context, we can’t just assume that any unwed woman is looking to date.

This means that many of your friends and family may be respecting this possibility and not actively trying to set you up on a date. How do you get them going? Tell them you’re looking! You don’t have to tell them every day, but at least once letting them know if they happen to know any great single Christian men that you’d be open to exploring that.

And one last note on that, if a friend or family member sets you up on a date, please say ‘yes’ and go. The first time you say ‘no’ will be the last time they probably go out of their way to set you up.

3. Try a wholesome and Christ-centered dating app.

Online dating, hooray, right? Yes, we know that a lot of people these days are turned off to the idea of dating online. Within the Christian context, it’s usually for one of two reason. One, you’ve tried it and it doesn’t work. Two, you’d rather meet someone “in the church”.

Two responses here. First, in our humble opinion, the Church is not a building, but a group of people. So, whether those people are congregating within four walls or on an app, they are still the Church. Second, if you’ve tried online dating and it didn’t work, we’d ask you to evaluate the apps you tried.

Were they Christian owned? Did they offer a wholesome and Christ-centered environment? Did they care about Kingdom work or just making a buck?

If you’re not sure or not happy with your answers to these questions, we’d love to invite you to try out Higher Bond. It’s 100% Christian owned, faith-focused, and designed for Christians looking to start a serious relationship with someone special.

4. Get involved at church.

If you show up for church 30 seconds before service and you’re in the parking lot to leave by time the last song ends, you’re probably not going to meet any Christian men (or meet anyone). Instead, spend more time at church. Get involved. Stop racing in and out of service.

Not only could this help with meeting Christian men, but it can help you build your faith and help you get more connected to your church family.

Show up to church early and hang out in the lobby or coffee shop (if they have one). Take your time leaving church and talk to people (men and women). Get the calendar of events from the church and get involved!

Bonus tip here is to try a different service time if your church offers it. Often, people go to the same church and never even see each other because they simply go to different services.

5. Go to Christian events outside of your church.

Not only should you be looking at events within your church to make new friends and meet Christian men, but look outside of the church too! Think things like festivals, concerts, speaker series, events at other churches, etc.

These are really neat ways to expand your circle outside of just your local church. It is especially helpful if you go to a small church.

6. Join a singles group.

While many churches don’t have singles groups, some do. If your church has one, we’d encourage you to check it out. Even if you go and don’t meet someone (or see anyone you’re interested in), you might want to keep going.

You never know who might introduce you to someone or if someone new randomly shows up!

And if your church doesn’t have one, you can always look at neighboring churches in the area. Chances are another church offers something you can try out. There is nothing wrong with attending one church for service but going to a singles group at another.
