LA Christian Singles (2026): Events, Groups, and Apps

The Higher Bond Team
If you’re a Christian single living in Los Angeles, you know it can be a bit tough out there. Only 55% of the city identifies as Christian, it’s a 50/50 split of men and women, and 60% of the city is single.
That means in a city of 3.8 million people, there are only about 627,000 Christian singles of the opposite sex. Yes, that may sound like a lot, but that only represents about 16.5% of the population, and that doesn’t start to account for denominational differences.
So, based on that, we should all just ‘pack it in’ and say finding Christian singles in LA is impossible, right? Of course not! Remember, you’re not looking for 627,000 husbands or 627,000 wives, you’re looking for one.
That all said, Christian dating in LA is not as easy as it might be in other cities, but it is still entirely possible.
Today, we’re going to walk you through what you need to know, share the resources and groups available in the city to support you, and point you in the right direction to help find the faith-focused love you’re looking for in Los Angeles.

Step 1 – Try Higher Bond for LA Christian Singles.
Technology typically starts on the west coast, and if you haven’t looked into leveraging tech to help you find love as a Christian single in LA, we’d love to invite you to try.
BUT! (and that’s a big, all-caps but) Before you just dive in to the first LA Christian dating app you see, we want to offer some guidance. Most of the top Christian dating apps out there are secularly owned and don’t focus on promoting a safe environment for Christian singles. They focus primarily on worldly views of dating, have minimal filters for inappropriate content, and really just aren’t ideal for what you’re looking for.
Great, right? Well, there is an alternative. We’d invite you to consider trying Higher Bond. It’s a Christian-owned and operated dating app focused on Biblical values and Christ-centered relationships.
All profiles are manually approved (by real people), they have really fun daily devotionals, and it’s truly a safe space for LA Christian singles to connect.
We’d highly recommend making this your first stop!

Step 2 – Tap into the larger Christian singles groups in the city.
The great part about Higher Bond is it’s not meant to replace in-person dating, but merely to be complementary to it. We believe you should still be looking to tap into some of the larger Christian singles groups in LA that could be great places to meet someone.
One shining light for LA is that there are some rather large Christian singles groups within the city, which you don’t get in even some of the more religious states in the country.
Here’s what we recommend. Start by looking at your local church. See if they have a singles group (or know of any close by) that you can join.
Next, look at some of the bigger options in the area. Here are several LA Christian singles groups that you could consider checking out:
- I Love JC-Christian Singles Meetup – (2,845 members)
- Biblical Christian Singles of SoCal – (2,609 members)
- Christian Singles Meetup – (1,417 members)
- Singles Ministry at The Valley Church
- Saddleback Church Singles – (Multiple locations in LA)
For transparency, our team has not fully vetted any of these groups, churches, or singles ministries. Please ensure you take the time to make sure they’re a correct fit for you before fully engaging. We don’t anticipate any issues, but we want to make sure you have all the resources and information you need to succeed as a Christian single in LA.
Step 3 – Look for events where you can meet like-minded singles.
Lastly, we’d encourage you to check out events going on in the area, both for singles and just for Christians in general! Events are often a great place to get out of your comfort zone, make new friends, and potentially meet someone special.
For singles-specific events in LA, we’d encourage you to check your church and the local churches in your area. More often than not, these events are happening, they’re just not advertised very well outside of the local church. These may be individual singles nights, small groups, or a multi-church conference and get-together.
For regular events, we think anything and everything is an opportunity! One area in Los Angeles we think is really good for this are Christian music festivals. These provide a lot of opportunities to interact in between bands and sets, with an environment conducive to meeting new people.
Again, look specifically in your area, but a few that we know of include:
- Grace Fest – (Early September every year)
- Holy Vibes Only – (New, we don’t know a ton about this yet, except it’s an R&B Christian festival)
Why Christian Dating in Los Angeles is Hard
The last thing we want to talk about is an honest view of what the dating scene for Christian singles is like in LA. To be clear, we don’t want to discourage you on your journey. But, we think having a realistic picture of what you’re up against can be reassuring. It helps you to know how to better navigate the scene, and also that it’s not something you’re facing alone.
With that said, here are a few of the reasons Christian dating in Los Angeles may feel like an uphill battle at times.
The nature of the city is busy.
When you see that 60% of the city is single, you might start to think that is a positive as it’s well above the national average. The problem, though, is that number doesn’t take into account the ‘why’. It clearly can’t capture the essence of the city that really drives that singleness rate.
LA is a city of movers and shakers. It’s filled with people who are seeking more and wanting to grow, which is awesome. However, often those goals are career-oriented, which means a lot of people who either deprioritize romantic relationships or don’t have time for them at all.
Now, thankfully, this is not everyone, and we’re also not knocking people with goals and ambitions. We’re simply pointing out that the higher than average singles stats is probably not a positive like it might initially lead on.
The numbers we talked about matter.
In the 39th most religious state in the country (which more importantly makes it the 12th least religious state), you can expect that things aren’t going to be as easy as they are in a state like, say, Mississippi or South Carolina (ranked #1 and #2 most religious, respectively). Additionally, when you take into account some of the other numbers we shared earlier in the article, the landscape in LA does get a bit more challenging.
Again, you’re only looking for one and you’re not going this alone, but we just wanted to make sure to reiterate how the numbers stack up.
