For prayer: “There’s no power in prayer, but there is power in the one whom we pray to.”

For raising kids: “You’re not raising children, you’re raising adults who are temporarily going through childhood.”

For people: “Everyone is flawed in some way and people will let you down. They will inevitably hurt you. When that happens, choose grace, choose prayer, and love them as Jesus loves you.”

@LeeAnn “For prayer: “There’s no power in prayer, but there is power in the one whom we pray to.”” This is one of my favorites.

Love God with all your heart mind body and soul, and love others because He first loved us.

              Be kind.

@sdenise66 Love Matthew 22:37! My wife and I are currently working through a verse by verse study of the Book of Matthew and can’t wait to get to this verse. Thanks for sharing!

Develop a healthy fear of God. It’s the beginning of wisdom. Trust me it will pay off. If anyone has also developed a fear of God, reply how you did it and maintain it.

@shawnS I know a lot of people find challenges in understanding what it means to fear God in a healthy way. Happen to know any resources/books/sermons that might address this for anyone curious?

“God is God, and you are not.” It sounds so simple, almost trite, but it is a powerful statement that keeps me humble (by reminding me of who I am) yet inspired/encouraged (by reminding me of who God is).

@david-j Sometimes the simplest statements are the most powerful. I feel like the hardest part of this sometimes comes down to timeline. I am certainly guilty of being impatient with God thinking that I know better as to what I need and when I need it.

I also really like your quote as it pertains to “knowing what the plan is.” While it would be nice to know what God’s plan is, He doesn’t owe that to us. We’re called to trust, whether He chooses to show us the path forward or just tells us to start walking 🙂

Thanks for sharing, I love this!
